Study Security in Kubernetes

In an increasingly dynamic and competitive digital world, many existing web applications are no longer sufficient to meet the increased demands for flexibility, agility and innovation. Companies need to respond quickly to new market demands and develop their own applications in a scalable and adaptable way. This has led to more and more dev teams moving from monolithic architectures to microservices and containerized environments. Separating application logic into smaller, more efficient modules makes it possible to accelerate DevOps processes and optimize usage through cloud properties. Container orchestration plays a central role in this.

This study is aimed at companies that either already use Kubernetes extensively or are in the testing or planning phase. It shows that Kubernetes is firmly integrated into application development at 30% of the companies surveyed. 29% of the companies are currently in the testing phase, while 26% are planning to use Kubernetes in the future. Another 15% of the companies in this study only use Kubernetes to a limited extent, for example in outsourced cloud-native projects or for specific web applications (partial use). Companies that do not want to use Kubernetes are not included in the sample.
